<a href="http://www.chromaticsites.com/web-design-blog/2007-09-14/dos-and-donts-guide-to-great-web-design/#comment-1847" rel="nofollow">@Daniel</a> - Thank you for the compliment, it is much appreciated and we're glad you found this article useful.

The difference between a mockup and a wireframe is the following:

A wireframe is a bare-bones, visual representation of how the elements of the website will be organized and laid out. A wireframe is normally created without graphics, images, or even colors, but instead, solid vector shapes such as squares, rectangles, and circles. A wireframe simply illustrates the placement of elements.

A mockup is a term used to describe the design itself. A mockup builds upon a wireframe by using graphics, images, colors, text, and more to create the design of the website.

Hope this helps.

First, congratulations for this article... excellent.

Looking more about design process, I got a doubt in my mind. I saw a lot of peoples and references saying a lot of things about mockup and wireframe (i saw a lot people using this terms as the final art). I am actually still don't know what is the difference between both and what mockup and wireframe are suppose to be? Can you clear this ?

Thank you very much.

@ Thiago Menezes - No, absolutely not. You can talk about whatever you want on your website. Some websites stick to the main theme throughout all of their content, while others mix in other topics. It all depends on what the point of your website is.

Search engines certainly won't penalize you for doing this. Just don't throw in spammy words and you'll be fine.

Thanks for stopping by!

I think I've added this comment somewhere else, but it seems it's not poping up on any of your articles :( so, here it goes, again:

Is it wrong to put a link about a subject A within a page talking about subject B, though either subjects are related to the main website theme?

Example: I have this page about a school's structure. And then I include a little ads so the user can advance to the next subject, let's say school's projects... really bad?

Thank you
